Wickes and Homesbase DIY Projects

When moving into your new home you can often spend a lot of money on getting the property in a fit state to stay in. Don't forget that you can often get great deals on DIY products and materials if you shop around before buying. It's all too easy to be in a hurry and grab the materials you need from your local Wickes or Homebase and not think about whether its what’s best suited to your project and whether you could save money if you purchased the products from another DIY store. Take a while and go from one shop to another looking at the materials and make an informed decision as to which type of material best suits your project, how much you need and where you can save money. Take specific measurements that you need for your ‘Do it yourself’ project you can easily over purchase and waste money which could be best spent elsewhere. If this is the case, and you've over purchased make sure you keep your receipt as you can return the excess material and get your money back. Don't forget that you can only do this with whole, complete pieces of material and not with 'bits and bobs' left over.
Don’t forget to use voucher codes and cash back options to help you save money on your purchase to save further money on your DIY projects.

Wickes and Rolawn Direct

I have discovered a fantastic team, this duo is Rolawn Direct and Wickes. If you need to redesign your garden or decking then these two names have everything you've ever need. Wickes will help you with supplying you with gorgeous garden furniture and gardening equipment but will also provide you with the materials incase you would like to make it yourself. I must admit my husband and I are not a very 'DIY' couple so I would always choose the furniture option but it's nice to have the option. Then Rolawn Direct is great for supplying all the much needed compost and fertilisers. So next time you are giving your garden a bit of TLC consider this fantastic couple of companies!

Furniture From Wickes

Furniture is one of those things that I like to look at even if I am not in the market to buy. While there are some things I am not terribly choosy about, furniture is one thing that I will not skimp on if I can help it. When I moved to my new flat, I gave away all of my furniture except for one piece. That piece is a deacon's bench handmade by my parents. The wood is solid oak and it is beautiful. Ever since I lived in my last place where everything was oak, I have fallen in love with the look and texture of the wood. It ranks right up there with mahogany and cherry in my book.

I once spent a month refinishing bedroom furniture (and office furniture!) because I was fond of it. The experience taught me a lot. For example, you should never buy furniture made with chipboard. It's commonly found in furniture because it is cheaper than wood. Naturally, it isn't as nice nor does it last as long. The other feature that is crucial for me now is a dovetailed hinge. There are no screws used with a true dovetail and that's how you can gauge real craftsmanship.

My new kitchen from Wickes

I hate my kitchen. It is not so incredibly vial, it is just ugly. The building I own was last remodeled about 40 years ago and the fixtures in the kitchen certainly reflect it. Not too long ago, I had an incident during which my kitchen wall was badly damaged. There had been a leak in the water pipe and so the wall had to be replaced. As a result, I received a new surround on the cooker. Unfortunately, that was all that was in need of replacement. As far as the damage goes, I mean. The bad part is that because I rent, I cannot go to a store and buy the things I like in the way of bathroom cabinets and bathroom sinks. Who knows, maybe "ugly" will come back into style again in another the next 20 years.

In my old house, I hated the kitchen but was able to do something about it. I put in a new sink and cabinet and also replaced the taps and the floor tiles. When I was done, my sister asked who did the work. The fixtures looked expensive and were certainly a far cry better than the ones I replaced. She was surprised to learn that I had done the work myself - with discount products! When it came time to remodel her house, she followed suit.

This is where Wickes comes into play. If you want new and pretty fixtures in your house, you need to go to the site. Who says beautiful and luxurious have to be expensive?

Wickes stores

I would guess I'm like many people in the fact that I always think of Wickes stores as being just DIY materials, kitchen and bathroom products but this often isn't the case. Most main Wickes stores also have a garden section which can be so useful as you can normally get a better deal instead of buying from a garden centre.

Wickes stores can be a great source of knowledge too. When browsing through aisles you can get ideas of what to design in your own home. If you don't want to design it they normally are quite affordable.

Wickes Voucher Codes 2010

I would guess I’m like many people in the fact that I always think of Wickes stores as being just DIY materials, kitchen and bathroom products but this often isn’t the case. Most main Wickes stores also have a garden section which can be so useful as you can normally get a better deal instead of buying from a garden centre.

Once I realised that they did garden things I went to have a look. We are moving to a new property and have found that we are lacking in spare as we have no garage. We will have a large garden so we thought it would be best if we purchased a garden shed. Having seen what they had to offer in their garden shed range I decided that maybe we could have a nice wooden summer house instead as it would look prettier but also be good storage.

Wickes stores can be a great source of knowledge too. When browsing through aisles you can get ideas of what to design in your own home. If you don’t want to design it they normally are quite affordable.

I would recommend to anyone wanting to redesign their house or garden to take a look at your local main store. You’ll be shocked to find that most of them not only offer you ideas to revamp your designs but will offer you products at affordable prices. In most Do it your self stores they will also offer you a 0%APR card on your purchases over a certain value.

A new Shower Room from Wickes

Your shower room is the most important place in your home. A large amount of your day is taken up by being in the shower room whether it’s getting the kids ready in the morning before work or whether it’s a nice, long, relaxing bath with your candles and tranquil music at the weekends. As we spend so much time in this part of the house it should be the way you want it. Designed with your favourite colour scheme in mind and your favourite tiles. Bathrooms and shower rooms make an impression on visitors and family too so we shouldn’t over look the appearance of our bathrooms.

The type of shower room you go for should be both easy on the eye and easy to clean. It should be user friends and inviting. Sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start when it comes to what you need to purchase when having a new shower room fitted. It’s easy to think that all you need is a sink, toilet and shower but this isn’t the case. On top of this you not only want accessories like towel rails but you want plumbing and piping for the toilet, basin and shower to work. At Wickes there is a wide range of bathroom suites or product to give your current shower rooms that TLC if needs if you don’t have the funds to purchase a new suite. On top of this there are helpful and friendly staff members to assist you and recommend plumbing and piping you may need to fit your suite. If you are paying for a plumber to fit this then you don’t have to worry! I would strongly recommend considering what your bathroom looks and feels like to bother your visitors and youself.
